Chemical Processing Technician

Job Purpose

Chemical Processing Technician will monitor the quality of products and processing chemicals to achieve the quality of the product required.  The Chemical Processing Technician will have extensive training in adjusting equipment to improve production efficiency and output, and will follow all company protocols to include safety, environmental and quality control of products and processes.

This position involves general labor in a metal forming environment, including: operating production machinery, moving material, possibly using hand tools and various power tools, performing general building/machine 5S maintenance, using a computer to log in and out of jobs and read and follow instructions, using various measuring instruments and all other duties deemed necessary by management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow the PMF Work Ethic
  • Maintain on-time attendance and return to work station promptly after breaks
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a production environment:
    • Operate production machines
    • Produce an acceptable quality part
    • Use and accurately read drawings, instructions, gages and all applicable measuring devices  
    • Handle and lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds
    • Effectively use the PMF shop floor data collection system
    • Follow daily work schedule
    • Handle and move material manually and using a forklift
    • Work to production standards
    • Participate in PMF’s continuous improvement program
  • Participate in continuing training
  • Work as part of the PMF team
  • Practice safety at all times and report any unsafe problems on the production floor 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with supervision to learn machine adjustments to maintain product quality
  • Participate in any advanced training offered by the company

 Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

  

Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to use a computer
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members

Physical requirements

Complete and pass PMF’s Functional Capacity Exam.
