(Reach Rd., Williamsport) has an exciting opening for a self-starter with leadership skills to accomplish complex tasks.  This opening is for an Assistant in the Scheduling department with the potential to move up into a lead role in the department.  A great candidate would have a significant background in manufacturing, practical experience with manufacturing processes and an understanding of the imperative role of production planning (scheduling) in accomplishing 100% customer on-time delivery.  This is a great position for an energetic, self-motivated, innovative and creative individual who can keep product moving through our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.  Background in Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Scheduling is needed. Must be out-going, have strong decision making capabilities and be a good communicator. The willingness and eagerness to learn world class metal forming techniques and technology is a must.  PMF is one of only a handful of US companies with this metal forming technology.

Job Purpose

The Scheduling Assistant reports to the Scheduling Manager and is responsible for assisting with the master production plan to ensure product is delivered on time in a cost-effective manner.  This role operates within the context of a fast-paced and customized-product job shop, with the mission of exceptional customer focus, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position will include the following:   

  • Generating, monitoring and maintaining the production schedule
  • Performing costing
  • Requisitioning materials and maintaining a material certification database
  • Providing lead time and inventory data for all products
  • Assisting in releasing production jobs
  • Helping to maintain shipment schedules
  • Communicating schedules to various departments with efficient expediting to meet all promised customer delivery dates
  • Reporting on production capacity
  • Working with the production managers to accomplish schedules
  • Assisting in monitoring actual output vs. the Master Production Plan
  • Follow all ISO/AS standards. 
  • Apply principles of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
  • Follow the PMF Work Ethic (F-HR-024)
  • Maintain on-time attendance and return to work promptly after breaks
  • Participate in continuing training
  • Work as part of the PMF team
  • Practice safety at all times and report any unsafe conditions on the production floor

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post High School degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft suite of applications is a must. 
  • Strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and to communicate effectively with team members
  • Previous experience in material and resource planning in a manufacturing environment is a plus

Complete and pass PMF’s Functional Capacity Exam.
