Production Department Team Leader

PMF Industries, a Williamsport contract job shop specializing in fabrications constructed of stainless steel and other formable alloys used in aerospace, pharmaceutical, food processing, micro-electronics, and defense markets, is seeking highly motivated individuals to be Team Leaders on first and second shifts.

Job Purpose

Production Department Team Leaders will be responsible for production, quality and safety of all operating departments on their shift.  This is a hands-on, working position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee production schedule and prioritize shift work
• Assure quality requirements are met
• Demonstrate leadership competencies
• Strive for continuous improvement of efficiency & quality, minimizing scrap & rework, and provide suggestions to continuous improvement
• Enforce organization standards throughout all departments
• Assure all applicable instructions and policies are followed
• Organize and track department paperwork
• Ensure safety policies are followed
• Promote plant cleanliness
• Evaluate employees as well as equipment needs
• Perform production tasks as required
• Assist the EAST Manufacturing Manager as directed
• Assist in determining the root cause of quality issues
• Investigate and report all incidents
• Set the example and mentor team members on good work ethics
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
  

Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Complete an aptitude assessment
  
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
• Ability to use a computer effectively
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members
• Prior leadership experience preferred
• Will be required to complete a three-year Industrial Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship program after hire, or present current certification as an IMT

Physical requirements

Complete and pass PMF’s Functional Capacity, Visual and Physical Exams.

Lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be drug-free and nicotine-free 

Hours:  First shift:  Monday-Friday, 6:30 am to 3:30 pm

            Second shift:  Monday – Thursday, 3:00 pm to 1:30 am
