Manufacturing Operations Team Leader

Job Purpose
Provide assistance and administrative support to the Manufacturing Managers. Organizes and performs a full range of duties of a complex nature that requires a thorough understanding of departmental organization, function, policies and procedures. This position is responsible for assisting and assuring the safety and productivity of primarily all EAST production employees, as well as WEST production employees, on designated shift(s), as well as plant security. Additionally, this position is accountable for helping to insure that the production schedule is executed in a timely manner and within all quality parameters. This is a hands-on, working position focused on production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist the EAST Manufacturing Manager as directed
• Participate in daily production management and help assure production schedules are met.
• Oversee the safety and productivity, including time management (efficiencies), of all team members.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with 5S protocol.
• Assist in determining the root cause of quality issues.
• Investigate and report all incidents.
• Able to help supervise other shift supervisors
• Provide suggestion to continuous improvement.
• Set the example and mentor team members on good work ethics (see F-HR-024).
• Assist Engineering by creating operational instructions for various departments
• Maintain Operational Instruction Database as well as all files; daily updates and maintenance of the database and instructions
• Maintaining daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for manufacturing
• Tracking of tool usage costs
• Tracking of preventative and routine maintenance on all equipment to prevent equipment failure as well as reduced risk of injury to operators
• File and retrieve corporate documents, records, and reports
• Assist Manager with meetings, preparing documents and presentations
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
Skills and Qualifications
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems including Quality System, managing files and records, designing forms as required
• Plan, problem-solve and work independently, juggling multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines, adapting to change as needed without compromising quality.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as ability and willingness to learn and use internal PMF software, including JobBOSS – required
• At least 5 years of manufacturing management, preferably as a Group Leader
• Excellent written and oral communication skills a must
• Professional demeanor, dealing with confidential information a must
• Ability and willingness to work some early mornings or evenings
Physical requirements
Complete and pass PMF’s Functional Capacity, Visual and Physical Exams.
Lift up to 25 lbs.
Must be drug free and tobacco non-user.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with 1 hour lunch
