From High School to High-Tech Leadership: Austin MacKenzie’s Journey to CNC Department Manager

Austin’s path into the world of precision machining began early, right in his local community. While attending Keystone Central High School, he discovered a genuine passion for CNC Machining through the Career Technical Center. This early spark ignited a drive for excellence that has clearly propelled his career forward.

After graduating from Keystone Central in 2013, Austin continued to advance his skills, completing a 9-month Machining program at CPI (Central PA Institute of Technology) in 2014. Seeking to apply his growing expertise, Austin found his place at PMF Industries in 2015, joining our talented machining team.

His commitment to growth didn’t stop there. In 2018, Austin eagerly enrolled in PMF’s very first CNC Machining Apprenticeship program. Through three years of rigorous on-the-job training and instruction, he successfully became a State Certified Journeyworker in CNC Machining.

Now, just a few years after earning his Journeyworker status, Austin MacKenzie steps into a key leadership role as the Manager of our multi-million-dollar Machine Shop. This swift and impressive career progression is a testament to several crucial factors:
