Building the future of manufacturing starts with active community involvement. February brought incredible opportunities to connect with local students, help guide technical education programs, and discover the next generation of skilled machinists right here in our community.

Strengthening Educational Partnerships

Strengthening Educational Partnerships

  • SUN Area Technical Institute (Feb. 13): PMF attended the SUN Co-Op Breakfast and received a surprise recognition as an Excellent partner of the program. The visit included a stop at the Precision Machining Program to see students actively creating social media videos to promote the machining trade to their peers.
  • Keystone Central High School (Feb. 17): Participation in the Occupational Advisory Committee (OAC) meeting let PMF collaborate directly with educators. This ensures student programs continue teaching the specific skills required by industry partners. This productive meeting also yielded a highly qualified candidate for the CNC Machine shop.
  • Williamsport High School (Feb. 19): PMF attended the Stakeholders meeting to maintain a strong, ongoing collaboration with the local CTC programs.

Connecting with Future Talent

  • Central Mountain High School (Feb. 25): The team attended the local career fair to speak directly with 9th through 12th-grade students about manufacturing career paths. The conversations generated promising leads for future employment opportunities.
  • Montgomery Area High School (Feb. 27): PMF hosted 20 senior students and two advisors for an extensive facility tour. To make the experience resonate, a current high school Co-Op took the lead to show his classmates his exact workspace and daily responsibilities on the shop floor.

Growing the PMF Team

The momentum from these outreach efforts is already translating into direct hiring success. Throughout February, PMF conducted numerous interviews for open Machine Operator and CNC Machinist roles. Two official offers were extended, with more anticipated in March.

PMF Industries is on the move.
