Rotoforming
Rotoforming is a CNC controlled hot spinning process that utilizes a
flowformed cylinder to create a bottle-shaped pressure vessel that has a thick
neck and a thin side wall on the main body. The CNC process accurately controls
the profile of the neck while delivering controlled wall thickness and
repeatability.
PMF's rotoforming process includes simultaneous machining
to ensure concentricity with the machining features of the neck and the outside
diameter of the flowformed cylinder. The rotoforming process can be used on a
variety of materials, including stainless steel, brass, and aluminum.
